Pre-dates A Screenplay Called THE MATRIX By Two Years

A Team of people are able to upload themselves to the internet where their digital bodies can take on improved looks, accessories, and abilities.

They do battle with intelligent programs who seek to destroy them by corrupting their internet programs (bodies).

The protagonist has wildly powerful cyber abilities, can leap digital buildings, travel through the internet, and becomes the Guardian Of The Universe.

He meets a vast Machine Intelligence that runs the internet.

The characters are named Neon, Gemini, Doppler, Quantum, Optik, Maestro, and all like that there (kinda like Neo, Trinity, etc., but not.)

He dies and is resurrected by a vast Machine Intelligence.

"...are you beginning to believe, Neo?"

For whatever further amusement it may hold, Jeff Friedberg also created Space Marines called Bolt Riders, in a short story by the same name, and described them in detail. Some twelve years later, it seems others may have gotten the same or similar idea.

The current cover of Popular Science magazine deals with my similar idea of actually jumping (into combat) from orbit, wearing high-tech jump-armor.

I also wrote a deep cave-diving sequence and equipped my characters with a battery powered core-temperature heater, which appeared for real, on sale, a few years later.

There've been so many coincidences and strange occurrences during this writing that I've stopped paying attention, i.e. I "make something up," and later find out it actually happened, or it comes true.
Like when I wrote about a UFO and government cover-up and then I actually see a large silver disc apparently temporarily decontrolled in the approach to SW Florida International Airport, report it, encounter a "Mr. Jones," from the "FAA." who has "no knowledge of that, there wasn't anything like that flying."

The active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna would be bonded to the hull of an unmanned airship 150 to 300 meters (164 to 328 yards) in length that could hover for long periods above the jet stream at altitudes of 65,000 to 70,000 feet. The antenna would transmit on UHF and X-band. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is a leader in AESA technology, which uses no moving parts to scan at nearly the speed of light.
